Hardcover. Condition: Very good minus. First edition. Quarto [27 cm] Rust colored cloth over boards, with gilt lettering and red ink stamped panels on the backstrips. The edges of the spine and covers are rubbed, the backstrips are sunned, and there is a previous owner's address label on each rear pastedown. Volume 1 has a few light markings on the boards (the longest is a 4" scratch), and a few very minor stains on the backstrip. The text block of volume 1 is cracked at p. 1., and pp. 364/65 in this volume have some yellow highlighting. Else, the volumes are internally clean. Volume 1 includes A Brief History of the Latter-day Saints by Milton R. Hunter. Volume 3 is devoted to Personal and Family Records.

Exceptionally scarce complete five volume set of The Piccaninnies Picture Pocket Books in original slipcase. All books in VG order with crisp white decoration and titling to red boards and clean and bright text and illustrations (by several noted hands). Only fault of any significance is rubbing of the titles to spines and light shaking. Other minor issues noted below. Complete with heavily worn and crudely repaired original slipcase, branded 'The Piccaninnies Library' to lid. Topsy In Toyland: final page of text has some surface loss and small mark to board.
