In French. en Français. Solidor was one of the most flamboyant and open lesbians of the 20th century. She was friends with most of the great artists of the age and claimed she was "the most painted woman in the world". Contained here are some of those paintings including a brilliant nude by Tamara de Lempika (ca 1935). Solidor, owner of the celebrated cabaret 'La Vie Parisienne', was also immortalized by Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, Raoul Dufy, Marie Laurencin, Francis Picabia and Kees van Dongen, some images of which are in this catalogue. A sheet of wove paper (10 x 10 cm) inscribed and SIGNED by singer and actress Suzy Solidor (in Marseille, on September 20, 1943.) Also signed and inscribed by a few other (unidentified) luminaries. From the exemplary collection of maître d'hôtel Maurice Guérin, who worked from the 1930s to the 1960s at top restaurants in the South of France and aboard the S.S. Normandie. Adhesive remains, otherwise in good condition.
