Einzige deutsche Ausgabe dieser sehr seltenen Beschreibung. - Der schwedische Eisenwerks-Direktor Svedenstjerna (1765-1825) unternahm zwischen 1802 und 1803 eine Studienreise durch Dänemark, Deutschland, Frankreich und England, um die jeweilige Industrie und Eisenproduktion zu studieren. Die Ergebnisse publizierte er erstmals 1804 auf Schwedisch. Der Band enthält neben den Beschreibungen verschiedener Eisenhütten und Minen auch Schilderungen der Gesellschaft und der Lebensbedingungen im frühen 19. Jahrhundert. - Stempel auf Vorsatz und Titel. Einband etwas berieben, sonst gut erhalten. - Vgl. Poggendorff II, 1057 (schwedische EA).

Inlagan med ett fåtal spridda småfläckar och hörnveck, dock ovanligt ren och snygg. Svedenstjerna (1765-1825), bergsvetenskapsman. Han gjorde denna studieresa på Brukssocietetens bekostnad för att inhämta kunskaper om ländernas järnframställning. Svensk biografiskt lexikon skriver: "I november 1802 reste S över Engelska kanalen och etablerade sig snabbt i London, där han försökte skaffa sig inblick i den engelska järnindustrins organisation. Efter att ha besökt en rad institut, organisationer och privatpersoner reste S på inrådan av samlaren, politikern m m Charles Greville till Devon och Cornwall, för att sedan fortsätta till Wales, där han besåg landets troligen största järnverk, Cyfarthfa, som ensamt producerade närmare hälften av den kvantitet stång- och tackjärn som tillverkades totalt vid de svenska järnverken. Andra industriellt viktiga orter som S besökte under sin sex månader långa rundresa som även förde till Skottland i norr var städerna Birmingham, Sheffield, Newcastle upon Tyne och bomullsindustrins Manchester. På vägen dokumenterade han allt från tenn- och koppargruvor, järn- och kopparindustrier, kolgruvor, ångmaskiner och kanaler till järnbron vid Ironbridge, och han försummade heller inte att besöka mer turistiska sevärdheter.".
