The subject of this volume is Jean Victor Marie Moreau (1763-1813), a French General under Napoleon Bonaparte, who was banished from France in 1803. He arrived in New York City in 1805 and settled near the Delaware River in northern New Jersey. In 1813 he returned to Europe and was mortally wounded at the Battle of Dresden in August 1813. Very scarce. In Very Good- Condition: lacking much of paper over spine; boards are lightly soiled and rubbed with some loss of paper; light foxing throughout, heavier on title page and a few other pages; otherwise clean and tight.
