Prestigiosa edizione illusatrata dell' editore Henri Laurens che, con la sua raccolta di "Capolavori per l' uso della gioventù" attinge a testi consolidati della letteratura universale per promuovere il lavoro dei migliori illustratori del suo tempo. I viaggi di Gulliver illustrati da Albert Robida sono tra i primi titoli di questa raccolta, e in effetti danno grande fama all' artista le cui molteplici vignette e lussuose incisioni a colori arricchiscono generosamente il testo. L' illustratore privilegia le sfaccettature comiche e fantastiche del romanzo, seguendo le proprie inclinazioni, ma anche i desideri dell' editore che desidera offrire ai bambini un libro di puro divertimento, escludendo la satira potente e amara di Swift.
