Full Leather. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: No Dust Jacket. Revised. 440 pages. There is a one and a half inch closed tear in the leather at the crown and along the upper top joint. Some separation is seen for about three inches along the upper hinge (internal) of the first four leaves. Volume remains tight and clean.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Indianapolis, 1893. Revised, Enlarged and Illustrated edition. IN FOUR PARTS. Sold only by Subscription. Original brown tooled, pebbled leather with gilt emblem on front board and decorative lettered spine titled "Revised Monitor and Guide". Very good. Several signatures uneven but sound. The Odd Fellows, recognized the need for the help of women in carrying out the principles of Odd Fellowship. In 1850, Schuyler Colfax wrote a Degree for women. And in 1851, the "Sovereign Grand Lodge" brought into being the Rebekah degree, founded upon the principles of faithfulness, hospitality, purity and dedication to the principles of the Order as portrayed by women characters of the Bible. The degree was originally written for Brothers to confer on their wives and daughters and was considered an ?Honorary Degree?, conferred at a special meeting. Later, the Sisters themselves were allowed to confer the degree on other Sisters, and a ritual was adopted with the Sisters taking the parts. Rebekah Lodges have continued to flourish. Copy of Charles Leonard "C.L." Todd (1871 ? 1932) politician, farmer, and businessman who served the 7th District in the Minnesota Senate from 1931 to 1932. Signed by him "C. L. Leonard Wells, Minnesota" on the second free front endpaper.
