Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Elegant kimono silk fabrics. A compendium of the modern designs for silk kimono fabrics in the early 20th century. The collection shows the era s aristocratic taste in arranging patterns and coloured silk. The vivid colours and elaborate lines of the depicted fabric samples show the high quality technique of polychrome woodblock printing. The book was published to demonstrate the achievements and quality of Japanese silk, which was a big export to the Western world at the beginning of the 20th century. The book is not listed in OCLC and has no records in Japanese libraries.  Original paper wrapper. Japanese fukuro toji binding. Stains on the wrappers. Very minor browning. The ex-owner stamp on the last page. Overall very good to near fine condition. Size is 25 x 18 cm. 61 leaves. 60 plates. One volume complete. Text in Japanese.
