Staple bound paperback. Condition: Near Fine. First printing. A Near Fine copy of a rare zine. Color and black and white photographs. This copy is number 24 of a signed limited edition of 150. Stated first printing. Unpaginated. 5.5" x 8.5". If you grew up in New York in the 1990s, you know their names: Stave, taeOne, Thane, Dams, Metro, Ebes, and Geshu. They were known as the SMG (Shattered Minds Gathered) crew, and they were a bunch of kids smoking bad weed, drinking 40s, and bombing whatever surface provided enough negative space for their tags. Of the group, Stave showed an interest in photography and dragged his expensive camera around, documenting their youthful exploits. Thirty years later, taeOne had Stave dig up the negatives to print in this archival zine. It is a superb photo essay of a time and place aesthetically familiar yet temporally far, far away. .
