Add to basketVintage silver copy print (overall 27 x 51 cm). Presented in a handsome near contemporary aluminium gilt frame, with replacement, conservation standard, backing board, glazed with UV protective glass. Slight fading to upper areas, signs of silver mirroring in the darker areas, generally a very good example of this scarce photograph of Ibn Saud, handsomely presented. On the occasion of Saudi Arabia's 88th National Day the King Abdulaziz Public Library released pictures of King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al-Saud. This particular image was used to announce the enterprise, but we have found no other records of it, the one exception being an almost identical line-up with 21 sons (two additional seated figures at the right hand end), where the subjects are in slightly different poses, indeed, by their sideways glances, not totally prepared for the posed photograph. This is an original vintage silver print, a near contemporary photographic reproduction of the original photograph, although not from the original negative. The silver mirroring indicates that this is no mere photo-copy or modern digital reproduction. John Tarvin was employed as photographer for Aramco.
