19 cm, rilegatura cartonata con piatti dipinti a mano a colori rappresentanti due uccelli in stile romantico, tagli dorati, 264. Con alcune belle incisioni a spggetto femminile e romantico protette da velina. Ordinari segni del tempo ai margini della legatura, interni ottimi. Molto buono.

Con ''una rozza vignetta raffigurante un Gesuita che spegne un moccolo'' sul front. dell' "Invito". Poemetti satirici in sestine contro il governo austriaco ed il clero. Il Tasca (Bergamo 1795-1872) fu poeta e patriota costretto all'esilio, profugo lombardo di parte democratica e corrispondente di Ugo Foscolo. Il Biscottinista é un assiduo frequentatore della ''Osteria detta del Biscottino, salita a meritata gastronomica rinomanza'' (così in Hoepli), ma in effetti la ''Società del Biscottino è una specie di secreta congregazione la cui esistenza e natura.è pur troppo comprovata da un gran numero di fatti che spesso turbarono il riposo e gl'interessi di famiglie sottoposte alla di lei influenza'' (cfr. l'Avvertimento ai lettori). A Milano era chiamata Società del Biscottino un'associazione di dame della nobiltà che in origine era nata per fornire assistenza alimentare e spirituale ai malati, ma che in seguito si era data ad una propaganda antiaustriaca. Curiose e rare edizioni, la ''Lettera è ristampa affrettata, fatta alla macchia'', come l'originale dello stesso anno. Buon esemplare, minime fioriture alla prima opera ed antichi restauri agli angoli del frontespizio, molto fresca la seconda. Belotti, "Storia di Bergamo e dei Bergamaschi", 1989, p. 199). Ottavio Tasca nacque a Bergamo nel 1795, e ben presto si fece conoscere per il suo vivace talento. Dopo aver prestato servizio militare, visse a Bergamo, poi lungamente a Milano. Per alcune liriche sull'impresa dei Mille, merito' l'apprezzamento di "poeta nazionale" da parte di Garibaldi. ITA.

A Milano eraÂchiamata Societa' del Biscottino una certa associazione diÂdame della nobilta', che in origine solevano portare qualche biscotto agli infermi, ma che poi si erano date ad una propaganda antiaustriaca. Scrive qui Tasca ironicamente: "La compagnia detta del Biscottino, di rinomanza ormai piu' che provinciale, forma.una segreta congrega le cui retrograde tendenze furono in continua opposizione colle illuminate e tolleranti intenzioni del defunto Arcivescovo.". In the article he praises the skills of his wife, who is going to be touring through France: "Une célébrité musicale la comtesse Taccani-Tasca est dans ce moment de passage à Paris d'où elle ira faire une tournée artistique [.]. Les revers politiques qui ont bouleversé sa patrie et frappé sa famille vont rouvrir à la grande cantatrice dans la force de l'âge et dans tout l'éclat de ses moyens artistiques cette brillante carrière [.]". - Following the death of his first wife in 1832, Ottavio Tasca in 1835 remarried Élise Taccani Tasca (b. 1814).
