Trade Paperback. Condition: Fine. Assumed First Edition. 256 Pages. Take an unparalleled look at the incredible journey from civilian to combat-ready through the eyes of an American Fighter Pilot. Author Captain Taylor Fox chronicles his experiences while training to fly the F-16 and F-22 fighter jets in the United States Air Force. From doing push-ups in the mud to flying the world's most advanced warfighting machine, Fox weaves a remarkable tale of life as an airman, both on the ground and in the air. Uniquely honest and without prejudice, Captain Fox's story bears personal truths, incorporating humor, trepidation, reflection, and a firm dedication to good storytelling. Each new entry leads to another revelation and lesson learned, portrayed with humility, honesty, and the author's own authentic voice. Unlock the adventure of a lifetime as you race through the clouds at Mach 2. "Combat Ready is a uniquely entertaining read explaining the life lessons of becoming a warfighter in $150 million supersonic jets and how they can relate to your business and personal life. These young men are held to a higher standard, a standard this book identifies and organizations can learn to strive toward." -Rob K. Voss, Executive Vice-President of Sams's Club, Inc "A must read for anyone interested in the path to become, and experience of being, an American fighter pilot. Combat Ready is an in-depth look at what it takes to join one of the most elite communities in the world." -Colonel Peter B. Field, USM (ret.), F-18, A-4, and F-4 Pilot.

Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. First ( No Additional printings). Original white trade paperback showing paddle-wheel in blue and black, with black lettering. The reader is likely to gain a much greater appreciation of the role the river steamers played in history as a result of this remarkable book. Surely their captains and crews deserve a special place in Heaven for their daily devotion to dangerous duty. Their pranks and humour took the edge off their shared responsibility to the public. Although this account is set on the Saint John River, it was multiplied by thousands over the country in that era. Several photos and maps, including a triptych foldout of the entire Saint John River system. Scarce. 122 pp. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Illustrations by Patricia Tingley, B & W Photos, Foldout Map (illustrator). Book.

Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. This vintage copy of Aces All was written by Capt. Samuel Taylor Moore and illustrated by Raymond Lufkin. The book was published by McLoughlin Brothers Incorporated in 1932 and appears to be a First Edition though it's not specifically stated as such. It is NOT an ex-library copy and is a hard cover book with no dust jacket in good + condition. The pages are beginning to yellow and there's a name of a previous owner written on the front paste down end page. The book is 5 1/4" by 7 3/4" and has 237 pages with a Table of Contents and some older full page black-and-white illustrations. "This collection of short stories takes its title from the liberalized interpretation of the term "ace." Here will be found - not only stories of battle aces - but their newer birdmen brothers - aces of the air mail - aces of the deadly dangerous forest-fire patrol and the flying soldier-of-fortune ace." The Table of Contents indicates five short stories. Thank you. Raymond Lufkin (illustrator).
