Handbook for members of the charitable organisation, the Ancient Order of Froth Blowers. It was founded by Bert Temple in 1924 and was established to raise money for children's charities run by the surgeon Sir Alfred Fripp - Fripp had previously carried out life saving surgery on Temple. Male members were known as Blowers, female members as Fairy Belles, and children & dogs as Faithful Bow Wows. The order was in existence until 1931 and raised huge amounts for charities. Members of the satirical organisation received one of these membership booklets, a membership card and a pair of cufflinks. The card entitled them to 'blow froth off any members beer'. There is an envelope in the front of the booklet to hold the membership card. The booklet contains a few illustrations including ones by William Heath Robinson and B L Stampa. Dorothy Sayers fictional detective Lord Peter Wimsey was a member of the AOFB. Scarce.
