Cover illustration has "Fun in the Funhouse With The Talking Magpies" with Heckle and Jeckle going through the Tunnel of Love. Back cover has an advertisement for American Specialty Co. Wear to volume from reading.Tears along thin, stapled spine. Creasing and a wear patch to front cover. Slight lean to volume. Wear to side edging of front cover. Illustrations are in color. Unpagenated but runs about 32 pages. Text is clean with no markings. Bottom edging of some pages have small holes that were common in newsprint. Creasing to corners of some pages. Contents:"Heckle and Jeckle in A Wild Ride!; Terry Bears; Heckle and Jeckle in The Forty-Ninth State; Gandy Goose in Haunt Hunting; Roquefort; Dinky in The Easy Life; Heckle and Jeckle in A Really Good Deed!" Hardcover. Condition: Good +. First printing. Signed and illustrated as a "Christmas Greetings to Paul Terry from way down under. (signed by a principal of ) Commercial Advertising Pty Ltd. Rosnock Pty. Limited." Quite a creative use of Dobell's book as a solicitation to the famous cartoonist Paul Terry, by this Australian publisher of comics & commercial artists in Australia. The cartoon on the endpaper shows two of Terry's creations, Mickey Mouse and Heckle and Jeckle (anthropomorphic magpies) perched on the continent of Australia waving from Down Under, presumably to "Up Over" (USA). Terrytoons operated from 1928-1971 in New Rochelle, NY. Tall 8vo, 136pp, color and b&w ills in text. Grey cloth w/ maroon title, small split in spine foot, dj chipped. Internally very good. Signed.
