Bruccoli : "The present text is an offset facsimile of the first printing .(London, Martin Secker, 1924). No editorial alterations of any kind have been made." He states that materials toward a definitive edition exist, and cites university holdings of early Lawrence typescripts.

This adulatory biography - amounting at times to a hero-worshipping hagiography - is of great historical interest, being the first biography of the great man, written by his personal physician, Thomas Skinner.
