Hardcover. Condition: Fair. First Edition (?). Oblong folio, [30] pages, patterned cream boards with title in silver, later rebacking in black cloth, its single gathering is detached from the binding. With 27 plates. This was a frequently revised and re-published work, promoting Colorado, and Denver, the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad, and travelers. Idntifying the first edition is a challenge. This original binding was done by J. G. Noble & Co., Denver. The marginal wash drawings were done by George Berger. These photographs are attributed to W. H. Jackson & Co., Jackson's firm. He remains one of the most respected landscape photographers of the American West In 2002, he was inducted into the International Photography Hall of Fame. There were multiple editions of this title, with various contributors. The Durango souvenir edition was the 6th, and in 1894.dd Collect the whole set. Here is a great place to start.
