Signed by the author to front endpaper, with inscription to a servant at Inwood "after 20 years' good service". Includes photographic plates. Floral endpapers. Pages have slight foxing, tanning and minor thumbing. Slight creasing. A few slight nicks to text block edges. Frontispiece's tissue guard is moderately foxed. Boards have some moderate edge wear, with slight bumping to corners and minor bumping to spine ends. Moderate water staining to front, spine and rear. Quite marked and mottled overall. Gilt is bright.
