Dez. 1836 in Barcelona, trittt nach dem Einfall Napoleons I. in Spanien als gemeiner Soldat in die Guerillabande seines Neffen Xavier Mina und führt nach dessen Gefangennahme eine Reihe der kühnsten Unternehmungen aus. 1813 steht er an der Spitze von 11.000 Mann Infanterie und 2500 Reitern und ist mit dem Oberbefehl über Navarra, Oberaragon und die baskischen Provinzen betraut. Als 1814 Wellington in Frankreich eindringt, nimmt Mina Jacas ein, rückt nach Oleron und belagert St.-Pied de Port, als der Friede geschlossen wird. Mit seinem Neffen macht er im September des Jahres den Versuch, die Konstitution von 1812 wiederherzustellen, sieht sich aber genötigt, zu flüchten. (Der Autor wurde am 8. Mai 1799 in Löbau geboren. Nach dem Jurastudium in Berlin und Leipzig lebte er in Wiederau und Dessau. Seit 1824 Kandidat der Rechte in Ilmenau. War 1829 Herausgeber des Barmener Wochenblatts.
