Die Auswahl der Texte fUr den interessierten Studenten und Wirtschafts praktiker…verfolgt nicht das Ziel einer wissenschaftlichen Denkmalspflege. Vielmehr soli mit der Rlickbesinnung auf die wissenschaftlichen Urspriinge die gegenwartige Diskussion zur Entscheidungstheorie bereichert werden. Allzu oft werden die geisti gen Wurzeln der wissenschaftlichen Entwicklung durch Zitate verstiimmelt, von Freunden liberpointiert, von Gegnern verzerrt und von manchem auch so einver nehmlich libernommen, daB die Originalquelle verschlittet wird. Gerade diese aber erMfnet den Zugang zum ProzeB der Wissenschaft: Es wird die Argumentation des originaren Autors zuganglich; man erkennt das Vorfeld seiner wissenschaftlichen Bemlihungen, auch die historischen Einbindungen, den Stil der Auseinandersetzung und vor allem das angestrebte Ergebnis sowie die Grenzen der jeweiligen Erkennt nis. Dabei zeigt sich, daB viele der heute diskutierten Ansatze so neu nicht sind, wie sie sich verstehen. Die Schopfer der Entscheidungstheorie haben viele Probleme be reits deutlich erkannt, nur haben sie es anders gesagt. Die Auswahl der Beitrage erfolgte unter den Gesichtspunkten der Originalitat und Fruchtbarkeit flir die realwissenschaftliche Entscheidungstheorie. Neuartige, in der deutschen Referenzliteratur weniger bekannte, aber fUr die Entwicklung maB gebliche Gedanken entsprechen diesen Auswahlkriterien ebenso, wie unkonventio nelle Auseinandersetzungen mit klassischen Anschauungen. Konstruktivitat und Kritik waren gesuchte Qualitaten. Aus der Einsicht, daB die 'Entscheidungstheorie' ein auBerordentlich heteroge nes Problemfeld umschlieBt, folgt der heilsame Zwang zur Begrenzung und Selek tion.
