Softcover. Hans Thoma illustrations. (illustrator). 1st ed. GOOD book. Worn but tight. Stiff paper covers. Text pages faintly aged, but no other staining or soiling of any sort. Thode was Professor of History of Art at Heidelberg. This is a true story story of a 16th century Venice love affair and the ring. See Wikipedia. There are 12 chapters. All with headpieces decorated initials & very simple tailpieces. At least 10 full page b/w illustrations and a few in text. The stiff paper covers likewly added a later date. GOOD book. 1st ed. IN GERMAN. VG inside. Folio 183pp.
