Condition is VG+: exceptionally clean & bright, binding strong & straight, pages lightly tanned, unmarked save for short gift inscription in the form of a rhyme to ffep. All plates intact with clean, white margins & vivid colors. Mild pushing to spine, corner bumping. Crock of Gold was a popular early 20th century comic novel blending philosophy and Irish folklore and featuring leprechauns and the god Pan, among other folkloric elements. The author was a friend of James Joyce, who once suggested to Stephens that he help him finish Finnegan's Wake at a time he was struggling with it. marvelously magical novel for young people set in Ireland, about extraordinary adventures of the children of two philosophers & their wives.
