Obra dividida em duas partes, cada uma com numeração e folha de rosto próprias. Na primeira parte o autor estuda as Ordens Militares, com a respectiva heráldica e medalhística, e sobre as famílias dos Países Baixos e suas ramificações europeias, incluindo a dinastia de Bragança em Portugal. Na segunda parte apresenta um pequeno glossário de heráldica com explicação dos termos utilizados na primeira parte. Muito importante para o estudo da heráldica europeia do século XVII. Thomas de Rouck (Bergen op Zoom 1592 - 1660) foi funcionário da Câmara de Berg op Zoom e depois seu Presidente. Desenvolveu um sistema de representar as cores dos brasões através de vários tipos de sombreados. Um exemplo está na página 55 da Segunda parte da presente obra.
