Einzige Ausgabe dieses für die Geschichte der Brille wichtigen Werkes mit Anweisungen zu deren Herstellung. Daneben wird auch die Anfertigung von Mikroskopen, Fernrohren, optischen Instrumenten, Linsen etc. beschrieben. - Thomin (1707-1752), Opticus, Mechanicus und Brillenhändler in Paris, beschreibt hier die bei der massenhaften Anfertigung von Brillengläsern auftretenden Fehler, empfiehlt die Anwendung von Doppelbrillen für Kurzsichtige, tritt für die Verwendung von bikonvexen Brillengläsern ein und beschreibt das Monokel. - Vereinzelt leicht fleckig.
