Preble of the U.S. Biological Survey in May of 1907, down the Athabaska and Slave Rivers, by Great Slave Lake northest to the Aylmer and Clinton-Colden Lakes region of the Barren Grounds. Appendices lists of insects, plants, mammals, and birds.

Some light shelfwear to boards, corners, and head and tail of spine. Boards lightly rubbed. Internally tight and clean with only a few spots of foxing. Ffep affixed to front pastedown, as it common for this title. Tear archivally repaired to one page. Signed with a lengthy inscription from Seton-Thompson on front flyleaf. An attractive copy. very good A warmly inscribed copy of Seton-Thompson's collection of woodland stories. "To Gilbert Curtis [?] this book which was used in the dedication of his fireside from his friend, Ernest Thompson Seton. 29th June Red Moon 1909. [Hakweemona?], Loon Lake, NY.". Loon Lake is located in the picturesque Adirondack Park of Northeastern New York. A perfect place for this book to be used to dedicate a fireside.
