Red binding, impressed decoration to broards, mark to bottom front. Title & pages 1 & 2 are free/loose but taped in. Light wear/small rubbing/creases to spine-ends & corners. Bottom of flyleaf torn away at front, tea-stained at bottom rear. Page-edges darkened, margins slight yellowed. Text is clean & sound. Looks mid-late Victorian.

Condition: Fair. 1866. New Edition. 712 pages. Half bound brown leather with brown cloth covered boards. Contains black and white plates throughout. Pages are moderately tanned and foxed throughout. Thumb-marking present. Brown staining to pages throughout. Visible creasing to gutter. Cracking to hinges and gutters, leaving netting exposed. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Visible sunning to spine and edges. Noticeable marks and scratches overall. Some peeling leather to spine and corners.

Hardcover. Condition: Good+. New Edition. Quarterbound black leather with black pebbled cloth some edge, corner and surface wear with some damage and loss at top of spine. Hinges appear to have been re-glued. Book is square and binding is secure. Solid, useful copy of Vol. 2 only. ; B&W Portraits from Steel Engravings; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; 548 pages.
