This is a monumental and scholarly work, based on Heyerdahl's doctoral thesis but going far beyond, with material from several field trips to the Pacific island groups. (For those unfamiliar with the work, this is very much not a narrative of the expeditions as in Heyerdahl's popular books describing his field work, but a serious, impersonal and detailed analysis of his hypothesis that American Indians colonised the Pacific island groups.) The book weighs over 3 kg and extra postage will be requested if shipping outside the UK.
