Mineau de La Mistringue, auto-proclamé secrétaire perpétuel des buveurs des eaux de Passy, nous laisse un livre singulier relatant des épisodes réels ou fantasmés se déroulant autour des fontaines d'eaux minérales. Il est classé par Edmond de Goncourt dans "La Maison d'un artiste" parmi les écrivains à l'imagination déréglée : "Macédoine bizarre, où il est tour à tour question de la fée Bellie, du développement de la mémoire grâce à au sens interne de la substance cendrée, du jeu de corbillon, des avantages du célibat, d'un passage d'un convoi de galériens chantant des litanies de la Vierge, de la répartition de l'impôt territorial". Book attributed to the politician Antoine-Joseph Thorillon (1742-?) Who, under the pseudonym of Tho. Mineau de La Mistringue self-proclaimed perpetual secretary of drinkers of Passy waters, leaves us with a singular book recounting real or fantasized episodes taking place around the fountains of mineral waters. It is classified by Edmond de Goncourt in "The House of an artist" among the writers with the wild imagination: "Macedonia bizarre, where it is in turn question of the fairy Bellie, of the development of the memory thanks to the internal sense of the ashy substance, the game of crow, the advantages of celibacy, a passage of a convoy of galley slaves singing litanies of the Virgin, the distribution of the territorial tax ". Book which we would have liked to prove that it inspired the Buveurs d'eau and Hydropathes of literary Boheme. 190g.

Criticizes Necker and develops ideas to improve the raising of taxes, the crucial problem of pre-revolutionary France. According to Coquelin & Guillaumin and according to a citation in INED the work is practically 'introuvable'. The author was 'Ancien procureur au Châtelet, et administrateur de la municipalité de Paris, et juge de paix à la section des Gobelins' (Coquelin & Guillaumin). - Fine, large paper copy on heavy paper and very rare.
