    Condition: Good. 1952. First Edition. 175 pages. Dust jacket over green cloth. Clean pages with mild tanning and foxing throughout. Tightly bound with mild thumb-marking throughout. Previous owner's inscription to front pastedown. Boards have light edgewear with corner crushing. Mild tanning to board edges and spine, which has mild crushing to ends. Book has forward lean. Unclipped jacket has heavy edgewear with some areas of loss, heavy tears, chips, and creasing. Moderate water staining to front panel. Mild tanning to spine. Notable rubbing and marking all over.

    Original Cloth. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. 1st Edition. The boards have a half inch faded strip along the bottom edge of the front and rear panels and the spine. A little browning to the page edges with scattered spotting. Browning and light spotting to the endpapers with a bookseller's label to the front pastedown. The pages are otherwise unmarked. The price-clipped jacket has quite heavy surface browning and spotting and chipping along the top edge where it has been allowed to ride up the book leading to the fading to the boards at the bottom. First printing. From the collection of Marjorie Powell, a botanist and yachtswoman who lived in Great Shelford, Cambridge.
