Fred Tiger (*1976), Chief John Winston Ono Lennon!, 2020. Handfinished Canvasprint, 60 cm (Höhe) x 40 cm (Breite), rechts unten mit "Fred Tiger" handsigniert und auf "2020" datiert, rückseitig nochmals handsigniert, datiert und mit dem Signet des Künstlers versehen. - minimaler Fleck im rechten oberen Bereich, ansonsten in sehr gutem Zustand - Häuptling des Pop - Fred Tiger nimmt hier auf Andy Warhol's Covergestaltung von John Lennons Album "Menlove Ave" (1986) Bezug. Hatte Warhol der vielleicht größten Pop-Ikone überhaupt verschiedenfarbige Haare und ein oranges Inkarnat verliehen und die Musik auf diese Weise in Farbe übersetzt, veranschaulicht Fred Tiger den Musiker als Häuptling. Diente bei Warhol der schwarze Grund dazu, John Lennon aufleuchten zu lassen, formiert er sich bei Fred Tiger aus der Dunkelheit heraus, wobei die partielle Farbigkeit auf eine die Musik intonierende Weise fluktuiert. Diese geheimnisvoll-magische Wirkung wird durch Lennons Erscheinung als Häuptling gesteigert, dessen Federschmuck über die Bildfläche hinausreicht. Sein bannender Blick scheint von einem vergessenen Wissen getragen zu werden, was durch die erdartige Struktur des Gesichts unterstrichen wird. Seine Erscheinung ist aber zugleich der Auftritt als Häuptling der Pop-Musik, wodurch das Bild - der Pop-Art entsprechend - zugleich ironisch gebrochen ist. Buch.
