Contact seller5-star seller1st Edition. FIRST EDITION IN ORIGINAL WRAPS OF TWO PAPERS OF LANDMARK STATURE. Ouyang-Swinney's 1991 paper provided the first clear experimental proof of Alan Turing's 1952 reaction-diffusion theory. The Clackson et al. paper is seminal because it transformed antibody discovery from a slow, animal-dependent process into a rapid…, laboratory-based technology that became fundamental to modern biotechnology and medicine. This work also contribute to Clackson's 2018 Nobel Prize. More on each paper below. OUYANG'S PAPER demonstrates that a simple chemical system can spontaneously organize from a uniform, featureless state into stable hexagonal spot patterns and stripes purely through the interplay of chemical reaction and diffusion with no external template or organizer shaping the outcome. NOTE: There are two papers referred to as "first proof of Alan Turing's 1952 reaction-diffusion theory." In this paper, Ouyang and Swinney proved Turing's theory works in a simple, CONTROLLED CHEMICAL reaction, showing stripes and spots can emerge from pure reaction-diffusion dynamics in a beaker. In 1995, Kondo and Asai, building on this 1991 paper, then showed the same underlying mathematics playing out in a LIVING ORGANISM: the shifting stripe patterns on the angelfish's skin, as it grows, move and rearrange in a way that matches Turing wave dynamics rather than a fixed genetic blueprint. We offer the Kondo and Asai paper separately. CLACKSON'S PAPER: This paper changed how scientists find antibodies. Instead of searching one antibody at a time, it made it possible to screen millions to billions of candidates rapidly, enabling many of today's antibody medicines and making phage display one of the most influential techniques in modern biotechnology. CONDITION & DETAILS: London: Macmillan & Co. Nature, Volume 352, No. 6336. Original Wraps. (10 x 7 inches; 250 x 175mm). Original paper wraps. Bearing the mail sticker of Robert R.
