Alcuni capilettera incisi sempre in legno. Una piccola macchia d'inchiostro al piatto anteriore; alcune correzioni al testo e maniculae manoscritte antiche; firma di possesso cancellata al frontespizio; timbretto di vecchia biblioteca privata. Frontespizio con grande cornice xilografica col titolo entro un fregio architettonico comprendente figure allegoriche e grotteschi; ritratto xilografico del Tiraqueau al verso del frontespizio; alcune grandi iniziali ornate e fregi xilografici. Leg. piena pergamena coeva con dorso anticamente rimesso e guasti agli angoli, al dorso titolo calligrafico (legatura allentata). Antiche firme di appartenenza al frontespizio e note marginali di mano coeva, sfrangiature nel margine esterno di alcuni ff., qualche foro di tarlo riparato nel margine interno, qualche traccia d'uso, ma nel complesso ancora dignitoso es. (8715) Terza edizione, la più ampia, di quest'opera dell'illustre giurista e magistrato francese Andé Tiraqueau (1480-1558), per la quale il Rouille aveva ottenuto il privilegio nel 1558. L'autore, soprannominato "il Varrone francese", coltissimo ed eruditissimo, è anche noto per aver fatto uscire Rabelais dalla prigione di Fontenai, che poi lo ringraziò nel prologo del suo Gargantua et Pantagruel, e lo rappresentò nel personaggio di "Trinquamelle". Il suo De Nobilitate prende in esame tutti i requisiti della nobiltà e la sua trasmissibilità, le professioni (come l'agricoltura, la mercatura e la medicina) con essa compatibili, ed in quali casi se ne perda il diritto, e approfondisce poi l'ampia casistica dei diritti di primogenitura. Una parte cospicua dell'opera, ovvero tutto il capitolo XXXI (pp. 178-372), An ars medicinae nobilitate deroget, interessa la professionre medica e i suoi cultori. "C'est le plus considérable des ouvrages de Tiraqueau, et le depôt d'un savoir immense et d'une littérature sans bornes, dans laquelle la jurisprudence se trouve trop noyé. L'auteur ne se borne pas à traiter de la noblesse; il a su y rassembler tout se ce qui peut se dire de plus important pour ou contre chaque profession; magistrats, medecins, chirurgiens, etc., chacun a son lot" (Biogr. Universelle, XLVI/p. 125). Baudrier, IX/p. 304 (a pag. 310 riproduce il singolare frontespizio, disegnato da P. Eckreich e intagliato su legno da Claude Bezoard, le cui iniziali "C.B." si leggono in calce). Questa ediz. non è presente in Adams e S.T.C.
