Very good, with a slightly cocked binding, a bit of foxing on the top and bottom page edges, and a strip of paper adhered to the rear pastedown, in a price-clipped and spine-sunned, about very good dust jacket, with chips and tears, including a 3" tear on the front panel, and some rubbing.

Hard Cover. Dust Jacket Included. First Edition. Near fine in a very good+ dust jacket. The book is tight and clean, with just minor corner bumps. The jacket has a few tiny chips at the edges and the spine is just slightly sunned. 279 pages. Nice copy of this autobiography of a leading elephant trainer for different circuses.

Hard Cover. Dust Jacket Included. First Edition. Very good in a very good dust jacket. The lower front corner of the front board is worn with slight evidence of dampstaining. There is also loss on the jacket at the same corner, with the loss extending up the flap fold another couple of inches. In addition, there are small chips at the spine ends and a closed tear at the top of the front panel. Signed "George 'Slim' Lewis/The Elephant Tramp" on the front endpaper. A decent copy of this autobiography of a man who spent his life training circus elephants. Signed by Author.

The back cover is wrinkled. No date, but this is the 1912 FIRST EDITION. Decorative endpapers. The back hinge is cracked, the front hinge less so. Wrinkles & wear inside the back cover & on the back endpaper. Light foxing & age darkening inside. 5 of 5 one page colour plates, all clean, + 1 two page colour plate with darkening on the edges.

Arbor Hill Library embossment on fep. Seven of the 27 color tipped in illustrations were pencil marked by the child who owned it, She appoligizes. They have been lightly erased but are visible. The rest, including 6 double paged, are fine. A most charming book. Quite Rare, Worldcat finds 3 copies. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
