Author has SIGNED and dated the half-title page: "Tenzing Norgay, 21/10/80". The book was gifted to an Elsa Lutz (who had been a military wife), gifted perhaps by her military husband who wrote above the author's signature: "To Mrs. Elsa T. Lutz". Elsa Lutz had been a Red Cross volunteer for 2 years during World War II in North Africa and Italy, had apparently lived all over the world and enjoyed world travel. Elsa Dorothea Thum Lutz died in Minneapolis in 2013, was born in Bayonne, N.J., graduated from Skidmore College in 1936, and her husband would have been Col. Thomas L. Lutz according to obituaries.
