Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. Tony MacLay (illustrator). First Edition. First printing (no additional printings listed). With felt-covered illustrations of the downy duck! A well-worn copy, with worn-through corners and most of the backstrip worn away. One page has a crayon mark. The rest of the text is clean and bright. A very scarce item. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

This is one of Walt Kelly's scarce children's books using the Tony Maclay pseudonym. There is a severe spine lean. Wear to the spine ends. Wear along the lower board edges. There is some discoloring along the lower board edges. The interior is very tight and without markings. The dust jacket has chips to the spine ends and one to the upper, front edge. The chip to the upper spine area measures about 1 3/4" across. Much soiling. Price of $1.00 to the front flap. ; Small 4to 9" - 11" tall.
