Adèle TOUSSAINT SAMSON (1826-1911), fille du comédien Joseph Isidore Samson, exploratrice, écrivaine, connue pour son livre Une parisienne au Brésil (1883), le premier témoignage dune femme européenne sur le Brésil 4 lettres autographes signées adressées à lacteur Frédéric Febvre. 12 pages in-8 ou in-12. 1884, 1901, 1903. 1) Elle donne à Frédéric Febvre un portrait de lacteur Talma (1763-1826) « donné par Mme Talma à mon père et qui na jamais quitté le cabinet de ce dernier » comme souvenir des deux comédiens, Talma et son père « qui ont illustré la scène française et auxquels vous succédez si dignement ». « Mes meilleures amitiés que mon caractère trop franc ma toujours empêché de rendre banal ». 2) Dans la seconde lettre, elle lui demande de largent en exposant pourquoi elle ne demande pas de laide à dautres personnes que lui. « je me suis juré de navoir jamais recours à mes enfants pour conserver vis-à-vis deux mon indépendance et droit de mère de leur donner mes conseils jusquà la fin de ma vie ». 3) Dans la troisième lettre elle fait une longue analyse de la pièce mise en scène par Frédéric Febvre quelle a vue, adaptée du roman Quo Vadis dHenryk Sienkiewicz. 4) Dans la quatrième lettre, elle rend compte de la lecture darticles de Frédéric Febvre relatant certains de ses souvenirs de théâtre. Elle cite celui sur la tour de Nesle. « Lanecdote de Dumas et de son nègre est amusante ». « Si vous avez beaucoup de souvenirs comme cela à leur servir vos lecteurs ne seront pas à plaindre et vous pourrez partager avec Dumas le secret si rare damuser à notre époque ».
