Born in 1901 to Alaskan parents, Caroline Tower [her married name] spent much time traveling with sled dogs in her home region. Tutored in the various stage arts, she toured with vaudeville, which included a summer with the circus in an all-girl orchestra. Later she became a concert pianist and an operatic accompanist and coach. A sometime Seattle resident, Tower was involved in local musical organizations, e.g., the Ladies¿ Music Club and the Peroni Opera Guild. She also founded an operatic preparatory school and devoted much time to women¿s clubs, writing essays, musical shows and directing programs, including for shut-in children. ¿In writing for them, she discovered that relating her impressions of the intelligent behavior of the citizens of the Animal Kingdom interested them most. Four Foot Town is the result of this discovery.¿ [from the dust jacket]. Signed by Author(s).
