First Edition Signed
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. Original red gilt cloth with debossed decorations. This book appears to have been used by Townsend for Benjamin Welch, whose name is hand-written (signed?) on the title page and notations of exam results also handwritten, in fountain pen, on the margins. A unique, curious document recording the process by which a phrenologist carried on his work with a subject. A very well preserved copy, clean and bright. Extremely rare.
