Only 42pp have handwritten notes or pressclippings and the book has two parts at opposite ends of the book. One end is titled 'Wm. Henn(?) Hinde. 18 James Street, Liverpool, Nov 1892' & under it it the title 'Electric Traction Co 16 St. George Street Westminster. S.W. 1895.' The first two pages that follow have technical text - one part is dated 3.11.92 with notes on Asphalt paving & Arkens A/c. These are followed by further technical notes relating to 'Paving Liverpool Dock Line'.'Paving at Wapping'. 'L. O. Ry. Piece Work 1893' . followed by two pressclippings rleating to 'The Electric Express' - dated in pencil Nov 1896 & a photographic obituary of the late Henry J. Greathead dated Oct 1896. The remaining data in this section of the book relates to technical matters relating to the 'Central London Railway' date Oct 1898 - with specific reference to 'Barehole in Harrington St. under Holborn Viaduct Jan 1898. At the other end of the book the bulk of the text has notes from Cottons Manual of Railway Engineering - this is followed by a press clipping from 1896 relating to Dublin city drainage scheme and concludes with data on the London Metropolitan Railway - the end notes indicate that it opened on Aug 30th 1900 and carried 84,500 passengers the first day and 89,700 the second day. Would appear to be a notebook of an engineer who worked on the now disbanded Liverpool Overhead railway, Central London Railway and perhaps on work relating to drainage in Dublin. Interesting early railway ephemera.
