Douglas from the diaries of Charles Francois, marquis de Bonnay. Bonnay was appointed page to King Louis in 1765, before later being elected as a substitute deputy to the Estates General. He was accused of having insider knowledge of the Flight to Varennes.A scarce English translation of this important source for the events of the French Revolution. In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally generally smart; extremities are a touch bumped, spine is slightly discoloured and the head and tail of the spine are bumped. Internally, generally firmly bound, with a slight strain to the front hinge at the title page. Pages are a touch age-toned to the edges. Very Good Indeed. book.
