    Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. This is a 1986 Empty Bowl first printing of The Mountain Poems of Stonehouse (translated by Red Pine) and is limited to 1000 copies. The silver envelope jacket was part of the first printing design. The book has square sewn wrappers, unpaginated, in a Bi-lingual layout. This was published with paper supplied by the Taiwan Handmade Paper Manufacturing Company. The book is in very good clean condition with only a handful of foxing marks, very minimal at front and end pages. The silver envelope casing has protected the book. It is showing some scuffs and wear, discolouration to spine extremities and some creases. There is a small approx. 1 cm tear near flap. Very Scarce.…

Fourth printing in publisher's original hand-made midnight blue rice paper binding, square-sewn card wrap covers (soft back) with white paper label to the front cover in Chinese and English stating 'Untamed Herding Cattle Pictures and Odes' and 'Translated by Akamatsu'. 8vo. 8'' x 5½''. American Booksellers state that this book is in Japanese and English, it is not, the book is in Chinese and English. No one knows who P'u Ming was or when he wrote these verses or whether he is also responsible for the accompanying woodblock pictures. The earliest edition available was published by Chu Hung in 1609, and despite being one of the most knowledgeable monks of the sixteenth century, Chu Hung didn't know who P'u Ming was either. Unpaginated and printed in China on double-fold cartridge stock. Each poem is printed both in Chinese and English, with accompanying facing full-page wood block illustrations.
