Folio size part printed and part mss. indenture between Charles Pepper of Ballygarth Castle, County Meath, High Sheriff of that county and Ion Trant Hamilton of Abbotstown, Co. Dublin assigning the farm of Anne Effie of Crackenstown in the Barony of Ratoath, County Meath over to Baron Holmpatrick. Dated 20th of April, 1887. What happened was that Hamilton (Holmpatrick) was owed £34-12s-41/2d by Eiffe. He won a High Court Judgement against her for that amount which she didn't pay. Then he set the Sheriff on her. He seized her estate & put it up for auction. Thie highest bid was £2. This bid was from Henry Hopkins Foster who was acting as an agent for Hamilton. So Hamilton paid £2 for her estate and in the process recovered his debt. 4pp of which one has text in print & mss and another has a small amount of mss. text. SIGNED & Sealed by Sheriff of Meath. Nicked & creased with tears along creases which are more pronounced at edges. Signed by Author(s).
