Add to basketHard Cover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Dust Jacket. First Edition. (London: Lovat Dickson and Thompson Ltd., 1935). First UK Edition, first impression in dustwrapper priced 5s net to the inside flap. pp.303. Publisher's cream cloth with green lettering to spine and pictorial vignette in green to the front board. Illustrated endpapers, top-edge green. Lovely black and white illustrations inside. About very good. Spine tips bruised; lettering and vignette clean and unfaded; boards quite clean; some discolouration at the head of the spine matching wear in the dustwrapper; offsetting and foxing to both sets of end-papers and to the fore-edge; clean interior. The pictorial dustwrapper (also about very good) has a slither of loss at the tail of the spine and a larger chip at the head (not affecting any lettering) that extends to the top left-hand corner of the front panel. Unaccountably scarce in wrapper. A fragile production this copy has lasted the test of time reasonably well and is a lor brighter than most of the very few copies that appear on the market . "Pulled down from the clouds at the end of a kite string, Mary Poppins is back. In Mary's care, the Banks children meet the King of the Castle and the Dirty Rascal, visit the upside-down world of Mr. Turvy and his bride, Miss Topsy, and spend a breathless afternoon above the park, dangling from a clutch of balloons" (GoodReads). Further photographs available upon request.
