Format/ Einband: 19 x 12,5 cm; der Textteil enthält nach dem Vorsatz und einem Vortitel eine Hinweisseite auf das in seiner Zeit bedeutsame Werk des Autors der Vogelfänger und Vogelwärter", es folgt die Titelseite, der dann 2 Seiten Vorbericht und 6 Seiten eines ausführlichen Inhaltsverzeichnisses folgen. Nach den 244 Seiten Inhalt folgen dann die 24 halbseitig aufklappbaren Kupfertafeln. Nachsatz. Einband leicht berieben und an den Ecken leicht bestoßen, sehr sauber erhaltener Innenteil nahezu ohne Flecken, lediglich die letzte Tafel vor dem Nachsatz hat am oberen Rand einen Wasserflecken. Insgesamt ein sehr gut erhaltenes Exemplar komplett mit allen Tafeln. Über den Autor lässt sich biographisch wenig finden, doch bekannt in seiner Zeit war er wegen seiner 2 bedeutsamen Werke zum Fisch- und zum Vogelfang. Vielleicht drückt sich darin eine romantisch anmutende Ambition des Biedermeier aus, die Natur einzufangen und sie im eigenen Leben als Selbstbezug offenbar werden zu lassen. Gerade sein Buch der Vogelfänger und Vogelwärter" brachte es zu kulturentwickelnder Anschauung, findet es sich doch in der Bibliothek des Beethovenhauses in Bonn mit einem Exemplar wieder, was einen natürlich sogleich an Mozarts Zauberflöte" denken lässt und der Selbstvorstelllung des Papageno mit ein Vogelfänger bin ich ja".
