T. betrieb zunächst unter seinem Namen eine Schriftgießerei in Kiew. Zur Zeit des 1. Weltkrieges kam T. nach Berlin und übernahm die Le…itung der orientalischen Abteilung der Berthold AG. In dieser Funktion gab er 2 große Schriftmusterbücher heraus (Katalog Hebräischer und Jüdischer Schriften der Schriftgießerei H. Berthold AG., 1925 u. Katalog Arabischer Schriften der Schriftgießerei H. Berthold AG., o.J.). Die vorliegenden Werbeschriften der Fa. Berthold dürften gekürzte Ausgaben der großen Kataloge sein, in weniger aufwendiger Ausführung und ohne dem mehrsprachigen Vorwort. Sie enthalten Proben von unterschiedlichen Schrifttypen in verschiedenen Schriftgraden aber nicht die farbigen Druckbeispiele / Anwendungsbeispiele (vgl. dazu Lubell, Stephen. Joseph Tscherkassky ?
