Text is in Japanese with captions in Latin and English. The Tsuboi Bamboo Atlas comprises 109 loose colour lithographs of Japanese bamboo varieties with an English title page and index together with an 80 page book in Japanese. Presents examples of root systems, stems, with and without flowers and leaves, cross-sections, abnormalities, and fungus, at various scales, with Japanese and Latin titles, and English captions. Text is in Japanese. 1cm closed tear to one side of plates English title page with an owner's ink stamp to one corner. Some foxing and tanning to plates. Very minor creasing to one corner on some plates. Book is toned with an ink note to one corner of the cover and tears at the stitching hinges at the gutter of the first page.
