The book itself surveys the work of 8 major literary critics from antiquity to the mid-20th century, in 228 pages with Index in rear. Orig. published in hardcover in 1952, this is the First Anchor printing from 1959. Condition is VG+: completely clean & unmarked save for former owner's name & address inside front cover in pen. Else, pages lightly tanned. Binding strong & straight, light rubbing to extremities, very mild creasing to lower-outer corner of front cover. Nicely protected in new clear mylar collector bag free!
