Mainfränkische Hefte, Band 95. Fränkischer Maler des Barock (1713-1759), der in Wien studierte und 1757 Hochfürstlich Würzburger Hofmaler wurde. Er entstammte der Familie eines handwerklichen Malermeisters, der sich weiterbildete, später auch künstlerisch tätig war und dessen drei Söhne ebenfalls als Künstler bekannt wurden, wovon Georg Anton der bekannteste war.
