First Edition presumed. Tongue-in-cheek exegesis on constipation and farting. All you want to know, and a lot more, on those subjects undoubtedly. Offering a taxonomy of the various types of farts, describing the farts of different geographic regions, etc. Some practical advice percolates, or issues forth, through the text, but how can one be sure that that advice is sound when so much is intended in jest? N.d., circa 1836. 16mo. 14 by 9 cm. 99 pp. Fold-out hand-colored wood engraved frontis, title leaf, [1], 18 to 99 pp. Wood engraved vignettes on title and chapter ends. Scarce -- we could find no other copies of this work. There is a similar French work entitled Peteriana -- we believe there are substantial differences between this and the several editions of Peteriana. This title appears to have been translated into Italian and reprinted in recent times in that form. Original marbled wraps bound in. Light foxing on many, but far from all, leaves. Modern binding and slipcase without issues. Quarter Vellum. Marbled paper pastedown on boards. Slipcase with paper pastedown.
