Son los casos de "Anticipación y suspense", de Juan Frau, y de "La voz del ensayo como arma de urgencia en la novela contemporánea", de Ruth Robleda Caballero. Por otro lado, la reflexión sobre la intriga y la renovación de la narrativa va unida al comentario de ciertos textos y autores, con una perspectiva de carácter formal y/o pragmática. Así ocurre en "Como la sombra que se va: la disolución de la trama en la narrativa de Antonio Muñoz Molina", de José Manuel Begines Hormigo, "Continuidad de los parques. El pacto con el lector como resolución de la intriga en los cuentos fantásticos de Julio Cortázar", de José Antonio Cienfuegos Fernández, y "Paradas líricas en la narrativa de Roberto Bolaño", de Jaime Puig Guisado.
