FIRST EDITION hardcover, sewn-bound in cream cloth, with gilt lettering on spine, is in G condition, having corners slightly bumped; there is an impression on the front cover where it looks like a hard object impacted the middle to left front leaving two joini…ng circular depressions, also there is some minor bubbling to bottom of front and back covers, along with some dark vertical marks on back cover; former owner has rubber-stamped the letter "C" at top right of first free endpaper, and some faint ghosts of erased penciled prices in same area; there is foxing to both endpaper sections, and foxing to closed page edges. Dust jacket, enclosed in protective mylar (mylar not pictured), is in POOR condition, having some large chipped areas on jacket front, with rips and tears to edges and front, and is price-clipped; chipping and tears on jacket back as well, and much rubbing/scuffing to entire jacket. In the book there are two map plate sections, one showing the "Dispersion of London Jewry to 1914," and "The East End of London c.1900, Showing Jewish Residents in Proportion to the Total Population." 200 pp., with bibliography, glossary, and index.
