Rara colección de sermones de cuaresma… con temas médicos destinados a pronunciarse durante la cuaresma. La portada presenta un llamativo grabado en madera sobreimpreso en rojo que representa a un inválido postrado en cama apelando a Cristo en la cruz, con la frase "infirmus sum sana me domine" (Sal. 6:3, "Sáname Señor, soy débil", El sermón del primer miércoles (f.ix) lleva un pequeño grabado en madera dentro de la letra 'D' que muestra a José huyendo de la esposa de Potifar, un símbolo de las tentaciones del pecado moral en la iconografía cristiana. También presenta un pequeño grabado en madera de la crucifixión con la Virgen y San Juan, en el f. [2] con el lema 'Michi absit gloriari nisi in cruce domini nostri Iesu Christi' [St. Pablo. Carta a los Gálatas 6,14], y un gran grabado en madera (con un amorcillo) en el reverso de la última hoja con lema de San Pablo [A los Filipenses 2, 10 - Ante el nombre de Jesús se doblará toda rodilla] El autor, Gabriel Vaca, era un fraile franciscano. A lo largo del sermón establece paralelismos entre el tratamiento y bienestar del alma -a través de la oración, la contemplación y la devoción- y el del cuerpo físico.
